Frequently Asked Questions

How much does tree removal cost in Middle Tennessee?
Most residential removals in our area run between $250 and $3,000. A small tree in an open yard is usually $250–$500; a typical 30–60 foot tree is $500–$1,200; and a large hardwood over a house, pool, or power line runs $1,200 and up because of the rigging involved. Access, drop-zone obstacles, and whether you want the stump ground drive the number more than height alone.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. We come to the property, walk the job with you, and hand you a written price at no cost and with no obligation. Most estimates happen within a day or two of your call, and emergency situations get looked at the same day.
Are you licensed and insured?
Budget Tree Service, LLC is locally owned, operated, and fully insured with both liability and workers' compensation coverage. We'll send a certificate of insurance to you or your HOA before work begins. Always ask for this from any tree company — if a crew member is injured on an uninsured job, the property owner can end up exposed.
When is the best time of year to trim trees in Tennessee?
Fall and winter, during dormancy, for anything structural. Removing a significant amount of live wood during summer heat stresses a tree badly and can kill it. Deadwood removal, clearance cuts, and hazard work can be done any time of year. If you call us in July for heavy pruning, we'll tell you honestly whether it should wait.
Do you handle emergencies at night and on weekends?
Yes. Storm damage doesn't keep business hours. Call (615) 795-3424 any time — nights, weekends, and holidays — and you'll reach us directly. We triage by danger: occupied structures and blocked access first.
Do you clean up afterward?
Completely. Brush is chipped, wood is hauled (or cut and stacked if you burn), and the work area is raked and blown. Cleanup is included in every price we quote, not billed as an extra.
Will my insurance pay for tree removal?
Homeowners policies typically cover removal when a tree strikes a covered structure, and typically do not cover a healthy tree you simply want gone. We supply photos, an itemized scope, and adjuster-friendly invoicing to support your claim, but coverage decisions belong to your carrier.
Can you remove a tree that's very close to my house?
That's much of what we do. Close-quarters trees are removed by climbing and rigging: the climber takes the tree down in controlled sections that are lowered by rope rather than dropped. It takes longer than a straight fell, which is reflected in the price, but nothing lands on the roof.
Do you grind the stump too?
We do, and it's cheapest when scheduled with the removal because the machine is already on site. Standard grinding takes the stump 6–12 inches below grade; we go deeper if you're replanting or building there.
How long does a typical job take?
A single medium removal with cleanup is usually a half day. Large or technical removals take a full day. Trimming several trees typically runs a half to full day, and land clearing is quoted by acreage after we walk the tract.
Do you work on commercial and farm property?
Yes — commercial lots, HOAs, churches, rental properties, farms, and acreage. Fence rows, pasture reclamation, lane clearing, and building pads are regular work for us.
What payment do you accept, and do you require a deposit?
We keep it simple and discuss payment when you approve the written estimate. For standard residential work we generally collect on completion, once you've walked the finished job with us.
